Book Review: EUGENIA LINCOLN AND THE UNEXPECTED PACKAGE

Eugenia Lincoln and the Unexpected Package book review

We love Kate DiCamillo over here! Anyone else? We’ve listened to a couple of her books in the car, but Eugenia Lincoln and the Unexpected Package is the first one we’ve read together out loud. I forced Lula to check it out, and then decided I’d have to read it to them in the afternoons after school if it was going to get read at all. I think the old lady on the front and the “vintage” feel didn’t appeal to my kids, but then we all loved it of course. Lula even took it to read in bed one night because she wanted to know what was going to happen next.

It’s such a quirky story about an unexpected accordion and what grumpy Eugenia Lincoln does with it. The characters were super fun to give voices to. I’m sure we’ll be reading more from this series in the future!
