Where Are You Going, Baby Lincoln Book Review

Lula, my 9-soon-to-be-10 year old, brought Where Are You Going, Baby Lincoln? home for us to read together after school during snack time. Yay, Lula! We'd already read Eugenia Lincoln and the Unexpected Package, and she was ready to read another one. This is a good sign coming from my "hesitant reader"!

We enjoyed how the focus was turned to Baby's character and away from the overly present Eugenia in this story. These stories are simple and perhaps geared towards younger readers, but even I want to see what's going to happen in the next chapter in DiCamillo's books. Her characters are lively and enjoyable and make for the best voices when reading out loud. And I really love reading out loud to my kids... as long as it's not their bedtime! I confess, when it's bedtime, I'm ready to be done! Which is why I really enjoy our after school time together. :)

Kate DiCamillo’s stories are always sweet and heartwarming. We’ve loved all the ones we’ve read, and I hope to read more. But next I’m going to see what they think about The Princess and the Goblin(Only $.99 for the Kindle version right now!) Gotta put some “classic” in their lives!
